According to a report by American Express Open Forum, there are 9.1 billion women-owned businesses in the US, and these firms are leading growth in 13 sectors of industry across the nation. With that being said, Centre Technologies is proud to announce that we have been named #10 of 2014’s “Largest Women-Owned Businesses” in the Houston Business Journal.
The announcement comes just a week after Centre announced its recent “Houston Fast 100” and CRN “Fast Growth 150” award. Company owner and president, Laura Pace, is humbled and ecstatic at the company’s newest set of accolades.
“Centre has the best clients,” says Pace, “We work closely with all of our clients to make sure that we are providing the best IT solutions for their environment. We owe our success to the fact that we are always looking to invest in their goals.”
A Non-Traditional Women-Owned Business
A local Houston news article states that revenues have increased for women-owned businesses in Texas by “98 percent between 1997 and 2014” (Simmons, C., 2014). However, this rate is under represented in the field of IT solutions. As such, Centre Technologies is considered a Women-Owned Historically Underutilized Business (HUB). Regardless of its ownership status, Pace attributes Centre’s success exclusively to Centre’s core philosophy: to make the client’s goals, Centre’s goals.
“Centre Technologies is successful because of three attributes- our employees, our partners and our clients,” says Pace, “We are always always looking at ways to invest in the attributes of our DNA, and this holistic approach has allowed the company to grow exponentially since we started in 2006.”
Pace says that Centre’s process is a threefold collaboration between their employees, best-of-breed IT manufacturing partners, and the resulting, ongoing value passed to their clients. The approach has worked: in a few short years, Centre has grown into a company that staffs over 100 employees and works with more than 15 industry-leading IT partners. The company reported a two year growth that has already earned them three other awards in 2014 alone.
