Delivering Excellence in Record Time with a Multi-Million Dollar Data Center Deployment
When you need us, we show up, and we're proud to say we deliver regardless of strict protocols and anticipated issues. Recently, our Projects team led a multi-million dollar data center deployment for a critical pipeline project and we delivered it ahead of schedule, despite several project interruptions and setbacks. Regardless of impossible deadlines, inaccurate infrastructure data, and cross-company coordination, our team built portable disaster recovery environments and ensured no interruption to the pipeline flow. This project showcases our Projects team's relentless commitment to excellence, speed, customer success, and ultimately, the #ONETEAM attitude.
The project at hand involved was complex. Our team was brought in to stabilize, strategize, and execute under extreme pressure—delivering results way ahead of schedule.
The Problem: Multi-Million Project with potential downtime on a critical pipeline
With oil flow on the line, the stakes couldn’t have been higher. Centre was called in to lead a critical data center project in Canada, working across three companies in the oil and gas industry, all with different expectations and systems. Travel restrictions, inconsistent infrastructure data, and change management burdened by red tape put the project two weeks behind before it even began.
Worse yet, if the data center wasn’t implemented correctly, pipeline operations risked coming to a halt, costing millions in downtime.
The Solution
- 2, 10hr days in a War Room style strategy session to: get caught up on project details, establish roles, and create deadlines, and finalize the project plan.
- Boots on the ground mentality with strategies that included working weekends, 50-60 hr weeks, and state-of-the-art tools to accomplish deadlines.
- Engineering a portable, fully virtualized data center box equipped with 10G switching and high-powered virtualization to serve as a disaster recovery failover.
- Quick turnarounds: on demand travel from Texas to Canada within 24 hours to tackle onsite hurdles and keep the project moving.
- Critical technical and projects team members willing taking on dual roles and long weekends to support tight deadlines.
"When this project landed, the ITC team was already fully booked. When we took this on, we really had a tiger by the tail. The team stepped up big, adapted fast, and put in the long hours to get this effort back on track. We brought in heavy‑hitter contractors, built relationships that now power other major projects, and learned lessons that set us up for future success. I’m incredibly proud of this team—Madison, KB, Don, and so many others—who helped deliver the impossible and get this project past the finish line. #ONETEAM"

the Impact
Despite sensitive data, broken change management processes, and challenging information from prior planning efforts, our Projects team completed a project that grew rapidly with new resources and an additional migration project, yet maintained delivery ahead of schedule. The results speak volumes:
- 50–60 hours per week of coordinated effort
- Zero interruption to the pipeline flow
- Four mobile data center kits now available for high-availability, redundancy, and rapid response
Our team proved what it means to live the company’s culture of “by all means.” With IT projects, plans change in real time, and the ITC team stepped in, assumed full responsibility, and showed unmatched resilience and capacity. The project’s success stands as a testament to their relentless problem‑solving and customer‑first mindset.
