After a new acquisition for an existing customer, Centre quickly identified Microsoft licensing waste and sprawl to drastically reduce costs and add flexibility.

After saving money from a successful cloud optimization, Centre applied the same approach to their Microsoft 365 licenses. Due to a recent merger, multiple tenants were on different billing cycles which included an outstanding number of active licenses assigned to employees no longer active in the business. The previous IT provider did not actively manage the license inventory.

After analyzing Microsoft 365 licensing usage and associated costs, Centre removed unassigned and disabled licenses, consolidated CSP records and simplified billing invoices, and made recommendations to optimize the types of licenses being purchased. In addition to savings, penalties were avoided by improving Microsoft licensing and software compliance.
